Lenovo T520 Contrast Settings Made Simple

When my Lenovo Thinkpad T520 arrived the saturation was so high the screen would glow with color.  The contrast settings were way off as well.  On my old Dell Latitude 620 there were on the keyboard with the function key.

A search of documentation and Google found answers like:

You can’t change the contrast on a laptop.

That was helpful wasn’t it.

More answers, none worked.  So here is how to:

Change those color settings on a Lenovo T520.

  • <ctrl> + <alt> + F12
  • Basic
  • Enhanced Color (on the left hand side)

There they are.  Brightness, Contrast, Gamma, Hue, Saturation.

Write down the settings, then play away.

I open a browser to a site that has color and fine details then start making my adjustments.

Easy as can be when you know where to look.

Hope this saves a few people some time trying to find these settings.

  1. + + F12 – nothing happened

    • Dave In Tucson says

It isn’t + + F12 it is + + F12 Hold all three keys down at the same time.

  2. Chris Gallagher says

Brilliant. I’ve been having problems getting accurate contrast and brightness rendition in prints for months. Now my screen matches the print output.
